તમારી ઑફિસમાં કમ્પ્યૂટર છે, નેટ કનેક્શન છે. તમારા ઘરમાં કમ્પ્યૂટર છે, નેટ કનેક્શન નથી. આ સ્થિતિ અનેક લોકોની હશે. કારણ સાદું - ઑફિસમાં કામ કરવાનું હોય એટલે નેટ જોઈએ, ઘરમાં બાળકો નકામું ન જુએ એ ડરે નેટ ન જોઈએ! આ ડર ઘણે અંશે વાજબી છે, પણ તેને કારણે ઑફિસમાં નવરાશમાં નેટ સર્ફિંગ કરતા ઘણા લોકોને સાચો અફસોસ પણ રહે છે કે તેમને જે માણવા મળે છે (જે ખરેખર ઉપયોગી અને સારું છે!) તે પરિવારને માણવા મળતું નથી.
યુટ્યૂબ કે ગૂગલ વિડિયોઝ જેવી સાઇટ્સની બાબતમાં તો આ ઘર ઘર કી કહાની હૈ. આ સાઇટ્સ સામાન્ય રીતે બાળકોને સીધી બતાવવા જેવી નથી. કેમ કે તેમાં ‘અવોઇડેબલ’ વિડિયોઝનું પ્રમાણ એટલું છે કે તમે સાવ સાદું કંઈક સર્ચ કરો તો પણ ભળતું-સળતું ભટકાઈ જવાનો ભય. બીજી બાજુ આ સાઇટ્સ પર મજાના વિડિયોઝનો મસ્ત ખજાનો પણ છે.
તમારે હાંડવો કે ખાંડવી બનાવતાં શીખવું છે? ફૅવરિટ સિરિયલનો મિસ કરેલો એપિસોડ જોવો છે? ઝૂઝૂ જેવી કોઈ એડ જોવી છે? અરે, ગુજરાતી સાડી પહેરતાં શીખવું છે? આ બધાના વિડિયો તમને યુટ્યૂબ પર મળી જશે. આ બધું તો ઠીક છે, વિદ્યાર્થીઓને અત્યંત ઉપયોગી એવા અનેક વિષય પર અફલાતૂન વિડિયોઝ આ સાઇટ્સ પર છે. સાયબરસફરમાં અગાઉ આપણે સલમાન ખાનની એકેડમી કે નિયોકેટવેલ્વ કે ફાઇવમિન જેવી સાઇટ્સની વિગતવાર વાત કરી ગયા છીએ. ખાન એકેડમીના વિડિયો યુટ્યૂબ પર છે, જ્યારે બાકીની બે સાઇટ્સ વિડિયોશેરિંગ સાઇટ્સના વિડિયો ફિલ્ટર કરીને પોતાની સાઇટ પર જોવાની સુવિધા આપે છે. આથી આ સાઇટ્સ બાળકો કોઈ દેખરેખ વિના જુએ તો જોખમ નથી.
પણ જો ઘરે નેટ કનેક્શન જ ન હોય તો? સીધો ઉપાય છે વિડિયો ડાઉનલોડ કરીને પેનડ્રાઇવમાં ઘરે લઈ જવાનો. ઉપાય સીધો છે, પણ અમલ થોડો ડાયવર્ઝનવાળો છે. પહેલી વાત તો એ કે યુટ્યૂબ જેવી સાઇટ વિડિયો ડાઉનલોડની સુવિધા આપતી નથી. છતાં, આ સુવિધા આપતી સાઇટ્સ અપાર છે, પણ મૂળ કામ કાયદેસરનું નથી એટલી સ્પષ્ટતા. તમે વિડિયોનો ઉપયોગ બાળકોના શિક્ષણ માટે જ કરશો એવી ધારણા સાથે આપણે આગળ વધીએ!
તો તમે યુટૂયબ પર છો અને કોઈ વિડિયો ઘરે લઈ જવા જેવો લાગે છે. એડ્રેસબારમાં જાઓ અને એ વેબપેજનું આખું એડ્રેસ (યુઆરએલ) કોપી કરી લો. હવે કીપવિડ નામની સાઇટ પર જાઓ. અહીં યુઆરએલ પેસ્ટ કરો અને ડાઉનલોડ પર ક્લિક કરો. આથી એ વિડિયો તમારા કમ્પ્યૂટરમાં એફએલવી એવા ફાઇલ એક્સટેન્શન સાથે ડાઉનલોડ થશે. એટલે કે એ ફાઇલ ફ્લેશ વિડિયો પ્રકારની હશે.
હવે આ ફાઇલ વિન્ડોઝ મીડિયા પ્લેયરમાં ખૂલશે નહીં! તમે હેન્ડીકૅમ કે ડિજિટલ કૅમેરાથી જે વિડિયો લઈ કમ્પ્યૂટરમાં સેવ કરો છો તે મોટા ભાગે .એમઓવી પ્રકારની ફાઇલ હોય છે, જ્યારે નેટ પરના વિડિયો મોટા ભાગે .એફએલવી પ્રકારના હોય છે, કેમ કે એ લાઇટવેઇટ હોય છે. તો કરવું શું? .એફએલવીને .એમઓવીમાં કન્વર્ટ કરી શકાય, પણ એ કામ કડાકૂટભર્યું છે. તેને બદલે એફએલવી પ્લેયર જ ફ્રીમાં ડાઉનલોડ કરી લો આ પ્લેયરની ઇન્સ્ટોલેશન ફાઇલ પેનડ્રાઇવમાં ઘરે લઈ જાવ અને ઘરના કમ્પ્યૂટરમાં ઇન્સ્ટોલ કરી લો.
